One of RiverClan's newest warriors, Pebblefish, stretched in her den's entrance, her marbled back lightly scraping the entrance's arch. As the young she-cat opened her mouth in a wide yawn, she could taste all the scents of the cats around her, and the freshkill pile. When the green eyed cat had woken up, her den had been empty, which was good, she had slept in. The sun was a bright blur behind a thin layer of fluffy grey rainclouds, it was nearly sun-high. The molly had been on guard duty all night, therefor it was expected that she was to sleep until sun-high. There were few visible cats in the wet camp, they were either on patrols or hiding in their dens. The bi-colour cat's hollow belly rumbled at the pungent odor of the drying fish in the heap of dead prey, she decided it would be alright if she had a small meal before heading out of the camp. She quickly trotted to the food, and picked out a small fish, and sunk her fangs into it's scaly and slimy skin, relishing the forgotten taste; the last time she had eaten a fish was when she was an apprentice. The river's and streams had been too frozen for the fish, and when they had thawed, their currents had been too strong to risk the life of a cat for a meal.

Cinderstream looked up from her carp, waving a tail at Pebblefish. She wasn't going to yell, for Cinderstream was not that kind of cat. If Pebblefish chose to ignore her offer(which wasn't likely), she could just pretend that she didn't offer. The camp was quiet, especially for sunhigh. But then again, cold winds that made RiverClan shiver in their nests and a drizzle wasn't present mood for conversation.

Pebblefish caught a glimpse of her favourite cat in the clan out of the corner of her green eye. She wasn't sure, but it looked like Cinderstream was waving her over to eat with her, either way, she wanted to share her meal with the deputy. She bit down hard on the fish, she could feel one of her fangs pierce an internal organ, but she didnt mind, unlike some of her clanmates. When she had reached the lynx point, she carelessly dropped her fish on the dry spot on the ground, and plopped down beside Cinderstream. "Anything new today?" Her voice was quiet, but she didn't care.

Willowface breathed in the smells of the morning air. Soft snores echoed through the den, and she yawned.
She pushed herself up and left the den as silently as she could. She felt water drip down onto her thick-furred pelt, but it wasn't enough to affect her - RiverClan never let a little rain stop them; they swam in the lake for fun!
Willowface picked out a small minnow from the fresh-kill pile and then padded over into a more sheltered spot of the camp to eat.

Dawnpaw crouched in her nest, staring at the entrance of the apprentices' den. Part of her wanted to wait for Reedpaw to wake up before venturing into the camp, but she knew it probably wasn't a good idea. It would take some getting used to that she wouldn't be able to spend every moment with her littermate now that they had started training. With a sigh and a glance towards Reedpaw's nest, she stood in her nest. The small black and white cat hesitated for a moment before leaving the den. Shyly, she looked around the camp until she spotted her mentor. Well at least there was one source of security out in camp already. She trotted over to where Willowface was eating and dipped her head politely in greeting. "Good morning, Willowface," she meowed softly. "How are you today?"

Willowface looked up at the sound of her polite apprentice. She gave her a smile and replied, "I'm well this morning, but the fresh-kill pile seems to be a bit lacking. how about after I'm done with this little mite here," she nudged her half-eaten minnow, "we go out and get something a little more filling for our Clanmates?"

"R-really?" Dawnpaw stammered. She had just started her training a couple days ago and had barely even gotten her paws wet so far. The little cat was nervous, but also excited. "Yeah, I mean. That sounds good." She was aware of how hard her heart was beating. What if she tried fishing and missed and fell in the water? Would Willowface laugh at her? Or try to give her to another mentor? She gulped and tried to push those thoughts away. It helped to think of how Reedpaw would scoff if he knew she was thinking those things and tell her that she was being fish-brained. She crouched down and waited for Willowface to finish.

Willowface chewed the last morsels of her breakfast, acutely aware of how Dawnpaw's fur seemed to be tingling with nervous excitement. She couldn't help but twitch her whiskers at the young cat. What, did she think that Willowface would push her into the lake and force her to swim?
No, Willowface would take things slow, just as her mentor did for her. She cleaned up the scraps of her minnow and then stood, licking her lips.
"Come now, Dawnpaw," she mewed, "let's be off."

The snapping rustle of the reeds sounded throughout the camp. A cat was entering through the entrance, luckily it was a familiar face of a RiverClan she-cat. A familiar face that was twisted in disgruntlement. Billowstone padded to the center of camp, flicking water off her paws with each step. With a huff, Billowstone sat down and begun to lick the icy water that had damped her long gray fur.
"I wish that Leaf-bare would let go of it's cold grip. It's suppose to be Newleaf by now!" The rest of Billowstone's cruses drifted into grumbles. Who she was talking to was unclear, perhaps she was blaming all of the world. In these days of freezing mist and rain, and the raging water threatening to shallow even the strongest swimmers Billowstone only wants the sun to come out. Gazing at the thickening gather of clouds, that hope seems to be far from today.
Billowstone shook her head, clearing the fog.
