Name:
Stonepelt
Name Explanation:
"Stone" for his gray pelt, "-pelt" for his lack of outstanding skills.
Age:
39 moons (3.5 years)
Gender:
Male
Rank:
Elder
Allegiance:
RiverClan
Personality:
Stonepelt is a kind elder. Being sentenced to elder status as soon as he was made a warrior has dampened his spirits somewhat - the formerly shy, but energetic young cat was now confined to a den for the rest of his life, unable to experience life with his kin and Clan. Stonepelt never dreamt of glory on the battlefield or of a high-ranking position, but he did one day dream of a family and a lot of friends.
He is not as wise as most elders, but he does know a lot about Clan life - he enjoys sitting and listening to the activities of the camp. He mostly enjoys the feel of water on his fur and when Willowface, his sister, takes him out for a walk along the streams. He plays with grass and reeds, bending them into shapes that, while they might not look good to other cats, he enjoys using his paws to feel the bends and grooves. He is gentle with kits, and can often smell trouble before it comes thanks to his heightened senses.
Often goes on walks with Willowface, and also sometimes tags along with the medicine cats on their herb-picking expeditions.
Appearance:
Small gray tabby tom with blind green eyes and scars along his face
History: Stonepelt was born into a litter of four with only one sister, Willowface. He joined his brothers in picking on Willowkit for some time, until he realized just how much it hurt her and how she was affected by the teasing. Even though Ripplekit and Paddlekit teased him, he joined his sister to help bolster her confidence and make her feel loved.
The teasing faded as the kits became proud apprentices, but Stonepaw and Willowpaw were still good friends and close. Ripplepaw and Paddlepaw often practiced battle moves with their siblings, but they were rough and tumble while Stonepaw and Willowpaw were not - so the two of them often practiced together.
Near the end of his apprenticeship, Stonepaw was blinded by an enemy warrior's claws. For nearly a moon he laid in the medicine cat's den in agonizing pain - and when his eyes had fully healed, they were blind. Scars left trails along his face. Though the blinding was an accident, Stonepaw's entire world had changed.
He received his warrior name, Stonepelt, and was immediately moved to the elder's den - this was not forced upon him, and it was his own choice. The moves he had learned did not suit a blind cat, and a blind cat could not fish or swim properly. Though it pained his siblings, Stonepelt's last night with them was at their vigil, where they huddled together to keep warm. After that, they would not share a den unless illness or age struck one of them.
Hunger killed one of his brothers, and wounds took the other. Now, it's just Stonepelt and Willowface. He missed Paddletail and Ripplewing more than anything, and reminiscing with Willowface on their walks, or when she just visits him, is a highlight of his days.
