Lioncloud's purr only grew louder, even though he knew that Dawnstar probably wasn't completely okay with his idea, he was still ridiculously happy. He rolled his eyes, the deputy had been slightly annoyed at the leader's worrying, but he wouldn't let that ruin a potentially wonderful day, despite the rain. "Fine, I'll let one of the senior warriors be in charge for today, I'm sure one of those log-heads will still be asleep. In fact, i might as well go tell one of them now!" With the sudden excitement and energy of a young apprentice, Lioncloud bounded across the camp, splashing in the shallow muddy puddles, when he reached the warrior's den, he told an older warrior that they were in charge, as loudly as he could. Soon he came trotting back to the buff she-cat, with dirtied paws, and a smug look plastered on his fluffy face. "Shall we go now?" He was itching to get out of the camp. "Or not now?"

Birchflank snorted at Pearnose's complaining, she was no better than a kit, but he didn't mind. The white and ginger warrior knew that she would want to take the latter option that she listed, and he was nearly ready to go on board with it, but the tom felt that his duties should be done before he were to laze about. He twitched his whiskers, hoping his mate would agree with his suggestion. "How about we go on a quick patrol, then we can spend the rest of the day huddled up somewhere dry, unless we are needed?"

Dawnstar sighed, looking at her mate. He was really looking forward to this little hunting trip, and Dawnstar had to admit that she was, too.
"Quit rushing," Dawnstar mewed, "there's no need... and you'll tire yourself out."
She padded out of her den, taking the steps down from the Highledge one stone at a time. She landed on all fours in the clearing, rain pattering against her pelt.
"Come on then," Dawnstar decided. "I'd like some leaves keeping me dry."

Following Dawnstar down the small and stony cliff, Lioncloud really hoped her mood would lighten up a bit. The deputy cringed as his fluffy paws were instantly logged with watery, cold mud when they thudded against the camp's floor. "Race you?" His voice was somewhat hesitant, for he didn't want to sound exactly like a newly named apprentice, even if that's where his mind-set was.

Pearnose's posture wilted slightly with disappointment when he suggested they go out. In the woods. In the rain. But at least he said it would only be a short patrol, didn't he? She gave a small sigh. At least she would get to spend the rest of the day snuggled up somewhere warm and dry with her favorite Clanmate. Finally she smirked at him. "Well alright, as long as it's really a short one," she purred, poking him playfully with a forepaw.

Birchflank chuckled and batted her with sheathed claws. "Well, we could go on that hunt later, if you wanted. Hopefully the weather will have cleared up by then. But now is fine too." His voice was slightly warbled by his high pitched purr. He suddenly slightly regretted having decided that hunting for the already full freshkill pile was more important than spending time with Pearnose.
OOC: Sorry for it being so short!

Pearnose gave a growl and pounced halfheartedly at Birchflank. She grabbed his shoulders with her forepaws and gently bit at his shoulder fur, though her fearsoome display was softened some by her own purring. She let him go and sat back with a wide smile. "I will hunt with you... if the rain stops. And if we can try near the lake where there aren't so many trees to drip water on us," she agreed. The she-cat bounced up and down a couple times before turning around in a tight circle. "But come on. The sooner we patrol, the sooner we can find someplace dry to rest."

"Race you?" Dawnstar mewed incredulously. She narrowed her eyes at Lioncloud.
Then, she sighed.
"When we're out of camp," she decided. She touched her nose to his ear. "I don't want to barge right into someone."

Snowear stalked out of the warriors den, his white fur a slushy grey. He had no control over the rain, or where it dripped, and it was putting the tom into a fowl mood. Maybe he could enlist help to patch the den!
Wait, that involved... asking for things. So Snowear would have to set down his pride for a moment, just to ask for help. Having a helper may lessen the amount of mud that would get into his thick fur. The tom spent a lot of time keeping himself pristine. Maybe Harepelt was available...?
Looking around camp, with no sight of his mother, he scoffed. Typical, Harepelt. Why would he expect the molly to help him? She was spineless and useless. He made his way to Pearnose and Birchflank, letting out a sharp cough.

Birchflank turned his head at the startling sound, he had been deep in conversation with his mate. "Oh... Hello Snowear. I'm guessing you'll be needing some help with patching up the dens? Lioncloud told me he set you in charge for repairs today... But I'm not sure he told you that." His voice was uncertain and quiet, to be honest, he was slightly scared of Snowear, but he tried his best to be helpful and respectful to the senior warrior. "Harepelt is on a patrol." He didn't know if she really was, but it was very probable. He just didn't want her to have to suffer under his myriad of harsh words.
