Snowear nodded to the younger tom, turning on his hind paws. Just because he didn't use his moves very well in battle didn't mean the training was not useful for something. Snowear was fairly flexible. Definitely a trait he got from Harepelt, considering he had no clue who fathered him and she was flexible. His paws were dark brown with mud as he padded to the den, examining it for the leaks. "Birchflank, your vision is better. Can you see any?"

Pearnose was mildly annoyed that she and Birchflank were interrupted, but she didn't speak up about it. She sat, pouting for a moment after they left before trailing off after them. She was in time to hear Snowear asking if Birchflank could see any leaks. The she-cat brushed past them and circled her mate's nest. "There was one here. Birchflank said it woke up him," she mewed obnoxiously. She fixed the pair with an expecting look, waiting for them to get to work.

Snowear scoffed, ignoring the she-cats self-absorbed behavior. "I'll go get more materials for the building." Even if she was younger, he didn't want Pearnose to shred his ears for making her mate leave. With a slight flick of his deaf ear, he turned to pad out of camp. Not far out. Just enough to collect the stuff he- they needed to fix the den.

Birchflank gave Pearnose an overly apologetic look, he really didn't want to be working with Snowear either, he had promised to her that they would laze about for the rest of the wet day. When the obnoxious tom left the camp, Birchflank quickly began apologizing. "Pearnose, I'm sorry. I know we were going to relax today, but the dens do need fixing, and I don't want Snowear to have to resort to having Harepelt help him..." He flattened his ears, the bad weather wasn't what ruined his good enough mood, it was the relationship between Harepelt and her son. The ginger and white tom knew it wasn't any of his business really, but he felt that the older she-cat could use some help with her situation.

Snowear padded back in, tail flicking in annoyance at the mud on his muzzle. StarClan, it will take moons to clean this out! The thought only further fueled his anger. He made his way to Pearnose & Birchflank, dropping the mound of leaves, sticks, muck and long blades of grass.
"This'll do." He told the pair curtly. Snowear's bicolour eyes widened as another cough burst from his chest, irritated from the cold weather. He silently cursed Harepelt & StarClan for his constant cough.

Pearnose thought about arguing, but Birchflank was right. If it was at all possible to spare Harepelt from Snowear, then it should probably be done. Then she didn't get a chance to put in her say before Snowear returned with materials to get started. She hesitated, staring at the pile, before grabbing some leaves in her jaws. She reared back onto her haunches and wove and patted the leaves into place over the hole that had been dripping into her mate's nest. "There," she mewed, carefully dropping back down to all fours. "Where else?"

Birchflank tried to ignore the other tom the best he could without being too obvious. He momentarily stopped his work to look over at Pearnose's job, which wasn't quite right. "Almost," He replied to the larger she-cat. "but I think it will need few more layers of fern and leaves, it was leaking pretty bad..." He gave a quiet purr, trying to say that she had done a good job, for he felt he had just insulted her. "Want me to check on the inside while you do the outside of this hole? Snowear, there's a hole near the base of this den, near Lioncloud's old nest."

Snowear nodded, shaking some rain from of the rain from his head. "I can hardly tell scents from sight with the weather like this." There was constant, rhythmic drizzle on his right, almost soothing. But on his left... nothing. Not a drop. And it was really upsetting his balence. Great! I'm wet, cold, can't hear, and muddy. Nevertheless, there is work to be done.
Padding into the much dryer den, he tried to step over all the nests, flinching when his wet pelt dripped.

Harepelt strode through the camp entrance with a pigeon clamped firmly between her yellowing teeth. The plump bird she had caught was the best catch of the patrol; but the skinny she-cat returned early due to an ache in her shoulder. The senior warrior made he way to the damp freshkill pile, where she carefully placed her prized catch on top of the heap. She gave her whiskers a lick before she walked to one of the warriors' den's, where the old she-cat intended to have a short nap before continuing on with her duties. On her way, she noticed Pearnose fixing up one of the dens by herself, figuring that the younger she-cat could use an extra paw, she offered her help, only to hear Snowear grumbling from inside the den; but it was too late, she had already offered.

Snowear's right ear perked at Harepelt's voice. "Harepelt?" He called, just to make sure he didn't mishear. "Weren't you- never mind. It doesn't matter!" He snapped, mostly to himself. Judging by his harsh tone, he meant something more like you don't matter. Though whether he meant himself or Harepelt, one could not be sure. "I can't hear the leaks." The last part was meant to guilt his mother, and even Snowear knew that was a dirty trick. It wasn't her fault he was half-deaf.
